Say what you couldn't to someone who'll never read it.
You write a letter to someone, or something, you can't reach.
The possibilities are endless.
Write to your childhood pet. The love of your life. A really good burrito you had last week. Yourself in ten years. Somebody you did something horrible to. Somebody you did something great for.
You choose a fate:
burn it.
cast it.
You hold the Release button. Your words break into Oblivion, continuing as time..
You've let it go. It's gone. For good.
Your letter enters the archive anonymously.
Others may find it. No one will know it was yours.
The rest is up to you.
Leave it here. We'll find it.
Some letters leave the archive.
Fragments of real, anonymous submissions are printed onto clothing and objects. When you carry one, you're carrying words that someone needed to let go of.
Every purchase keeps the archive alive.
Some letters take physical form.
When one does, it is written on a custom postcard. No author is identified. No record is kept of where it goes.
Addresses may be made available for yourself or on behalf of someone else. Making an address available does not guarantee that anything will be sent.
Addresses are renewed annually.
If an address is unknown, an email address or phone number may be provided to request a mailing address. A single message is sent. No follow-up occurs.
The person who provided the address is not identified. This cannot be changed.
No confirmation is provided.
This may be for yourself or on behalf of someone else.
